Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister and aunt Josefina Castillo Herrera, 98, of Mesquite, NM entered eternal life Friday, March 21, 2014 at Sagecrest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 13, 1916 in San Miguel to Enrique and Adela Tapia Castillo. Mrs. Herrera was a homemaker and a member of the Methodist Church. Those left to mourn her passing include two daughters, Elisa Gutierrez of Orange, Calif. and Linda Perea and husband Leonard of Mesquite; a sister, Mary Castillo Telles and husband Ruben of San Miguel; four grandchildren, Annette Q. Lowandowski and husband Bob, Michelle L. Perea-Florian and husband Alvin, Raymie Gutierrez and wife Hope, and Steve Gutierrez; five great grandchildren, Kaylee Faith Florian, Rhiaion Gutierrez, Nicole, Elijah and Joshua Quintana, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Gustavo Herrera on April 17, 1985, an infant daughter Mary Herrera and her son-in-law Ramon Gutierrez. A Graveside Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 24, 2014 at Missionary Ridge Cemetery, in Mesquite with Minister Carol Tuck officiating.
