It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father, son, grandson, brother and friend, Jesus 'Ninja' M. Rojas, 32, of Las Cruces on Monday, April 7, 2014. He was born August 17, 1981 in Las Cruces to Jesus G. Rojas and Marie Melon. ""Ninja"", as he was fondly known to his family and friends, was recognized as a talented and graceful skater at the local roller rink where his dancing skills led him to break dancing in his early teenage years. As a young adult, Jesus' passion moved into break dancing where he became one of the best dancers in the Southwest. Taking the dancing name of ""Ninja"", Jesus made a name for himself in the break dancing world; he was not one to shy away from break dancing competitions. Jesus earned the respect of his friends and family for his abilities with numerous stories told by his friends of his success and what a great break dancer he was. Jesus also had a love for computers and earned a degree in IT technology from the local community college. His computer skills were excellent and he was often called upon to ""fix it"" by his friends and family, earning the distinction of being called a ""computer geek"" by his friends. He was a member of the Catholic Church. Those left to mourn his passing include three sons, Eryk, Don and Carlo Rojas of Las Cruces; his father and stepmother, Jesus G. and Elfega Rojas; his mother, Marie Melon; three stepbrothers, Michael Paul, Hector and Gilbert Rojas; a step sister, Yesenia Rojas; two half-sisters, Michelle Melon and Desire Barela all of Las Cruces. Other survivors include his paternal grandparents, Manuel and Maria Rojas; his uncle, Andres Rojas and wife Gloria all ofDoña Ana; a close friend, Benito Brown of Las Cruces as well as numerous other aunts, uncles and cousins. Visitation for Ninja will begin at 5 PM Sunday, April 13, 2014 in Baca's Chapel of Prayer, 300 E. Boutz Road where the Prayer Vigil is scheduled for 6 PM. Family and friends will join together to celebrate the Funeral Mass at 10 AM Monday, April 14, 2014 in Immaculate Heart of Mary Cathedral, 1240 S.Espina with the Reverend Narciso Rivera officiating. The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow in the Doña Ana Cemetery where he will be laid to rest. Serving as casket bearers will be Lorenzo and Darrell Melon, Benito Brown, Buddy Pritchet, Eric Morales and Felipe Salazar. Honorary bearers will be Daniel Jimenez, and Sonny Hernandez. Jesus will be dearly missed by all who knew Jesus…the person.
