Charles M. Lewis, age 60 of Mesilla Park entered eternal life Monday, April 14, 2014 at his home surrounded by his beloved family and friends. He was born Nov. 6, 1953 in Davenport, Iowa, a loving son to Ramon and Molly Montoya Abeyta. For many years he was in retail grocery management prior to becoming self-employed in the home improvement business, which was his true passion in life. He was a member of the Catholic Church. Left to mourn his passing is his loving wife, Elsie Fierro Lewis of the family home; two beautiful daughters, Andrea Fresquez and husband Vincent and their two sons, Andrew and Brandon of Merced, California and Sabrina Wooten and husband Jan of Seattle, Washington; his mother, Molly Abeyta of Dona Ana; his brothers, Terry Lewis and wife Gloria, Timmy Lewis and wife Linda, Bobby Lewis, Richard Abeyta and wife Patsy, as well as three sisters, Ida Duran and husband Richard, Bertha Ruiz and husband Alfredo of Dona Ana and Gracie Manzanares and husband Steve. He was preceded in death by his beloved father and a brother Donnie. Calling hours for Charles will begin 9 a.m. on Thursday, April 17, 2014 in St. Albert The Great Newman Center, 2615 S. Solano, where the Prayer Vigil is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. and the Funeral Mass to be celebrated immediately thereafter with the Reverend Ray Flores, Celebrant. Cremation will follow and inurnment of cremains will be held at a later date. Service arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Baca's Funeral Chapels and Sunset Crematory of Las Cruces, 300 E.
