Dolores "Dolly" Lerma Anderson, born in Las Cruces, N.M., on Dec. 5, 1940, passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2014, in her home with her loving family by her side after a courageous four-year battle with breast cancer. She had an extremely strong spirit with a great love for life, family and her pets. She endured much but always managed to have a smile on her face. She was an inspiration to all who cared for her during her illness and she made new friends wherever she went. She could talk for hours on any subject and her love of reading made her very well-versed. She had a passion for everything colorful and artistic including painting, crafting, sewing, decorating and floral arranging. She created many, many beautiful things. Dolores had a deep faith in God. She said that Jesus sustained her and that she borrowed strength from him and that is how she could be so courageous on her journey until God called her home. She will be greatly missed by her husband of 50 years, Larry, her three daughters, Georgia (Jay) of Bismarck, N.D., Monica (Roberta) of El Paso, Texas, and Lisa (Sean) of, Bismarck, N.D. Her grandchildren, Nic (Sarah) of Bismarck, Jennifer (Nick) of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Shane of Bismarck, she was also blessed with her great-grandson Michael of Bismarck; sister Olivia (Ron) of Las Cruces; and nephews, Doug (Janice) of Winter Springs, Fla. and Mark of El Lago, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made in memory of Dolores to The Breast Cancer Society. Please call 1-800-227-2345 or send donations to P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
