Kirk D. Slusher, 61, of Las Cruces, N.M. entered eternal life on March 28, 2014. He was born on July 14, 1952 in Winchester, Ind., the son of Robert F. and Mary J. Slusher. Kirk graduated from Winchester High School and Indiana University. He lived his life as an adventure and traveled extensively, living abroad for a time. One of his favorite things was camping in remote areas such as Chaco Canyon, N.M. Kirk was dedicated to helping other Type 1 diabetics. Kirk is survived by a cherished son, Kerstin (Kerry) Slusher; fiancée, Magali Martinez Espinosa; mother, Mary (Rust) Slusher; sister, Sandy (David) Ellman; two nieces; a great niece and nephew; and two of the best friends a man could ever have, Carl and Helen Gibbons. At his request cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
