Mallory ""Sally"" Caruthers, 61, died peacefully on May 7, 2014, at La Posada, Mesilla Valley Hospice of complications from diabetes and renal failure. Sally was born May 28, 1952 in Denison, Texas to Johnie and Sue Caruthers. Sally worked at Memorial Medical Center and various clinics as a Radiologic Technician (X-Ray) for 30 years in Las Cruces and Silver City. Even after losing her eyesight, she was still an avid and skilled photographer. She took a trip to Alaska alone and captured countless amazing photographs. Sally was a prankster and loved to joke around. Her sense of humor was still present even in her last days. Sally loved her nieces and nephews and was known as ""Aunt Grannie"" the past few years. She always made spending time with them a priority – playing games, watching movies and just hanging out. Sally is survived by her brother, Joe Caruthers and wife Mary, her sisters Jeana Caruthers, and Mary Ellen and husband Kurt Lansford. She is also survived by eight nieces and nephews: Krystal Paulson (Richard), Brian Caruthers (Ashley), Corey Purcell (Allen), Kelsey Jordan (Sonny), Jake Caruthers, John Caruthers (Morgan), Joellen Lansford and Jeffrey Lansford. She is also survived by great-nieces: Allison & Katie, great-nephews: David, Kayden and Richard, Jr, and another on the way. Sally shared many wonderful lifelong friendships. Sally was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Johnie, Jr. and Michael. The family would like to thank Dr. Zahir, Michael Castillo, CNP, Dr. Corro and Da Vita Dialysis Center for the many years of medical care. The family extends their gratitude for the care and kindness shown to Sally by the Staff, Nurses and Aides at Mountain View, The Village at Northrise and La Posada Mesilla Valley Hospice.
