Manuela Alejo Ramirez, 89, of Las Cruces left her dwelling place on earth and entered eternal life to be with her heavenly Father on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at her home. She was born June 17, 1924 in Garfield, New Mexico to Luis and Emilia Apodaca Alejo. Mrs. Ramirez retired from White Sands Missile Range as a Mess Hall Assistant Supervisor and was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine and Parish. Those left to mourn her passing include two sons, Ramon A. Ramirez II, and Emilio A. Ramirez of Las Cruces; three daughters, Genevieve R. Chavez of Anthony, Genevieve M. Ramirez, and Natalie A. Ramirez both also of Las Cruces. Other survivors include seven grandchildren as well as numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Patrick A. Ramirez; three brothers, Lorenzo A., Luis A. II, and Emilio A. Alejo. Visitation for Mrs. Ramirez will begin at 6 PM Monday, June 2, 2014 in Baca's Chapel of Prayer, 300 E. Boutz Road where the Prayer Vigil is scheduled for 7 PM. Family and Friends will join together to celebrate the Funeral Mass at 10 AM Tuesday, June 3, 2014 in Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine and Parish, 3600 Parroquia Street in Tortugas with Reverend Vincent Petersen officiating. The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow in the Tortugas Cemetery where she will be laid to rest. Serving as casket bearers will be Jerry Patrick Ontiveros, Jerry Ontiveros, Ray Ramirez, Leslie Alejo, Emilio Ramirez and Matthew Bloomer.
