Angelina De Holguin Obituary
Our beloved mother, grandmother (tita), great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Angelina Marin De Holguin, 84, of Las Cruces, left her dwelling place on Earth and entered eternal life to be with her heavenly Father on Sunday, June 1, 2014, at Memorial Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born on Feb. 14, 1930, in Jimenez, Chihuahua, Mexico, to Valentin and Tomasita Garcia Marin. Mrs. Holguin was a homemaker and a member of the Catholic Church. Those left to mourn her passing include five sons, Luis Raúl Holguin and wife, Elvia Leyva, René Holguin, Efrain Holguin, and Wilfrido Holguin, all of Las Cruces, Hugo Holguin and wife, Claudia, of Phoenix, Arizona; three daughters, Teresita Garcia and husband, Justo, of El Paso, Texas, Angelina Holguin Dotson and husband, Donald, and Laura Elena Holguin and husband, Manuel Zuniga Jr., all also of Las Cruces; four brothers, Luis and Ruben Marin of Jimenez, Chihuahua, Mexico, Rafael Marin of Chihuahua, Chihuahua, Mexico, Saúl Holguin of Meoqui, Chihuahua, Mexico; four sisters, Alicia M. Lujan of Villa Lopez, Chihuahua, Celia Marin of Rancho Cucamonga, California, Maria Concepcion Franco and Nydia M. Portillo both of Jimenez; a sister-in-law, Celia Chunti Marin of Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. Other survivors include 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Raúl Holguin in 1998 and a brother, Valentin Marin. Visitation for Mrs. Holguin will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 5, 2014, in Baca's Chapel of Prayer, 300 E. Boutz Road, where the prayer vigil is scheduled for 7 p.m. Family and friends will join together to celebrate the funeral service at 10 a.m. Friday, June 6, 2014, in the same chapel with the Rev. Martin Cordero officiating. The rite of committal and interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 5140 W. Picacho, where she will be laid to rest. Serving as casket bearers will be her sons and son-in-law, Luis Raúl, René, Efrain, Hugo and Wilfrido Holguin, and Donald Dotson.
