Our beloved mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend, Alicia Marmolejo, 84, of Las Cruces, entered eternal life Wednesday, June 4, 2014, at La Posada-Mesilla Valley Hospice surrounded by her loving family. Alicia was born May 27, 1930, in Meoqui, Chihuahua, Mexico, to Florencio and Guadalupe Sanchez Rodriguez. Alicia was a homemaker and a devout member of the Roman Catholic Church. Those left to mourn her passing include four sons, Jesus Marmolejo, and wife Elvia of Las Vegas, Nevada, Cesar Marmolejo and wife, Priscilla, of Las Cruces, Oscar Marmolejo and wife Alicia of El Paso, Texas, and Horacio Marmolejo and wife Delmira also of Las Cruces; two brothers, Arturo Rodriguez and wife, Rosa, of Delicias, Chihuahua, Mexico and Raymundo Rodriguez and wife Socorro, of Las Varas, Chihuahua, Mexico. Other survivors include nine grandchildren, Jesus Jr., Oscar Jr., Anthony, Alejandro, Horacio Jr., Alfonso, Alicia, Emilia and Valeria as well as one great-granddaughter, Genesis. Visitation for Mrs. Marmolejo will begin at 6 p.m. today, June 6, 2014, in Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine and Parish, 3600 Parroquia Street in Tortugas where the prayer vigil is scheduled for 7 p.m. Family and friends will join together to celebrate the Holy Mass of Resurrection at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 7, 2014, in the same church with the Rev. Don Adamski, celebrant. At her request cremation will take place and inurnment of cremains will be held at a later date. Serving as casket bearers will be Jesus Jr. Anthony, Oscar Jr. Alejandro, Horacio Jr. and Alfonso Marmelojo. Honorary bearers will be her three granddaughters, Alicia, Emilia, Valeria, and great-granddaughter, Genesis.
