As we grieve the loss of our father, Arturo B. Lucero, born January 14, 1932 to Vicente and Juanita Barela Lucero, we are happy he is now joined with his loving wife Ramona A. Lucero of 51 years in Heaven. He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Vivian Calderon, and son Raymond. He is survived by his children Mario, Stella and Adam Lucero, along with his brother Frank (Alicia) and his sister-in-law Josie Kelly of El Paso. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Veronica (Marquetta) and Brian Cordova, Mario Jr., Miguel, and Ana Lisa Lucero as well as several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Arturo was a devoted Catholic and member of St. Genevieve Church. He looked forward to the 9:30 am Sunday morning Mass with Fr. Ricardo Bauza. Many of you may have remembered him from the more than 25 years that he worked for Coca Cola and Pepsi Bottling Company, which he and his brother Frank managed. In his final years of employment, he worked for his brother Frank at the Cush-N-Cue family billiards for more than 20 years, until he retired in 2005 to care for his loving wife. He serviced many clients in the southern valley where he was referred to as the "Coke Man". Arturo received many awards for outstanding salesman, surpassing sales records for many years in a row. He loved his family and God with all his heart and soul. Sundays were special family time where we gathered at his home for a meal to share together. His favorite football team was the Raiders and anyone he saw wearing Raiders gear heard it from him. We would like to thank the extra special employees of Albertson's on El Paseo for always making him feel so welcomed and our mailman Jorge for his kindness and caring ways. Jeremiah 29:11-13 The funeral mass for Arturo Lucero will be held Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at 10 am at St Genevieve Church, 100 South Espina Street, Las Cruces.
