Emma Bejarano Obituary
It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Emma Erlinda Bejarano, 73, of La Mesa, on Saturday, June 21, 2014, at MountainView Regional Medical Center. She was born Dec. 27, 1940, in La Mesa to Charlie and Francisca S. Camuñez. Emma had been a resident of Long Beach, California, for 35 years before returning to La Mesa. She was a homemaker and a communicant at San Jose Catholic Church. Those left to mourn her passing include her loving husband of 50 years, Antonio Bejarano of the family home; a son, Ricardo Bejarano and companion, Linda, of Las Cruces; two daughters, Teresa Salais of Long Beach, Christina Paalman and husband, Russell, of Costa Mesa, California; two brothers, Charlie Camuñez Jr. of Mesilla Park, Robert Camuñez of La Mesa, Priscilla Salinas and husband, Joe, also of La Mesa. Other survivors include seven grandchildren, Joey Garces, Marisa Ojeda-Grimaldo, Briana Ojeda, Vanessa and Alexis Bejarano, Maximiliano Cruz and Francesca Paalman; three great-grandchildren, Casey Garces, and Denise and Analise Grimaldo. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister and a brother. Visitation for Emma will begin at 6 p.m. Friday, June 27, 2014 in San Jose Catholic Church, 353 Josephine St., in La Mesa where the prayer vigil is scheduled for 7 p.m. Family and Friends will join together to celebrate the funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 28, 2014, in the same church with the Rev. Rogelio Martinez officiating. The rite of committal and interment will follow in the San Jose Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest. Serving as casket bearers will be Charlie Jr. and Robert Camuñez, Robert Bejarano, Joe Salinas, Joey Garces and Russell Paalman. Honorary bearers will be Matthew and Andrew Salinas, Ben Vasquez and Jay Nolen.
