Jane (McGhee) Hall, 68, of Silver City, passed away Sunday, May 18, 2014, after a valiant fight with a rare bone marrow disease. Her strong will to live, unwavering faith in God, and the love and prayers of family, friends and many supporters carried her through. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Bright Funeral Home. She was born March 15, 1946, in Lordsburg, New Mexico, to Jack and Louise McGhee. She was the youngest of three sisters, along with her younger brother, Jerry McGhee (who preceded her in death). She is survived by Jackie Miller (Ray) of Terrytown, Louisiana, and Janet Mechem Walter of Las Cruces, along with their husbands and children. She was married to her best friend, Ron, for 46 years and they raised three children. She was the life of the party, quick with a joke, and the heart of the Hall family. She was a woman of faith and a member of the United Methodist Church. She always cared for the membership and she took it as her mission to address the welfare of the church members by sending cards or making phone calls for those in need. Also known as "J.J.," "Momo," and "Nana," she enjoyed crossword puzzles and reading suspense novels. She would spend countless hours playing cards and various other games with her kids and grandkids. Mr. and Mrs. Hall enjoyed going for long rides and loved camping and fishing. She loved to entertain during the holidays, and would cook and bake enough food to satisfy an army of people. She is survived by her oldest daughter, Tammy Hall, and family, Leisha, Layson, Leksi and Lynden Smyer of Willcox, Arizona; her son, Mark Hall, and family, Erinn, Zachary and Zoe, of Littleton, Colorado; and her youngest daughter, Tracy Conell, and her family, Dana, Nathan, Garrett and Carson, of Gilbert, Arizona. A memorial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 3, at the United Methodist Church in Silver City. Memorial donations may be made to the Western New Mexico University Foundation (FBO Ron Hall), P.O. Box 1158, Silver City, NM 88062. Bright Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements, "Traditional Services and Care for Your Family and Friends," 210 W. College Ave., Silver City. Phone 388-1911.
