Suzan "Sue" Daniel, 68, of Las Cruces, passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2014, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on April 26, 1946, in Pueblo, Colorado, to Edgar and Billie M. Daniel. She was 3 when the family moved to Alamogordo, New Mexico. A few years later, they moved to Oscura, where Sue attended and graduated from Carrizozo High School. After returning to the Alamogordo area, Sue worked for Aero Med (the Monkey Farm), Dynalectron, Land-Air and RATSCAT Divisions, at Holloman AFB, Dynaspan, Cortez III, and NewTec (now TRAX International) at WSMR. Sue retired seven years ago, which enabled her to spend more time at Caballo and in the great outdoors, which she loved so much. Sue was preceded in death by her father, Edgar "Danny" Daniel in 1995, and her daughter, Danna Lee Daniel, in 2010. Sue is survived by her loving husband of 24 years, Vern Inabnitt, of Las Cruces; her mother, Billie M. Daniel of Alamogordo; sister, Connie Daniel of Alamogordo; sister, Sharon Garofano and husband, Stephen, of Alamogordo; brother, Jack Daniel and wife, Kathryn, of Greenfield, Indiana; brother, Danny Lee Daniel and wife, Julie, of Indianapolis; grandson, Billy Daniel and wife, Reeva, of Alamogordo; grandson, Clete Tyrell Powell and fiancée, Ashlyn Lucas, of Las Cruces; niece, Tiffany Garofano and fiancé, Riley Ward, of Hagerman; great-granddaughters, Savannah, Lillian and Hailey Daniel, all of Alamogordo; and many dear friends and co-workers. Sue loved Caballo Lake, boating, fishing, water skiing, riding the four-wheeler and a good cold beer. She was crazy about windmills and pictures of them covered every wall. She loved her dogs, Trouble, Precious and Bandit, western music, a good book, and growing flowers. She was an avid shooter and took great pride in her firearms. Sue has truly gone Home and she will be sorely missed by those who loved her. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 12, 2014, in Baca's Peace Chapel, 300 E. Boutz Road, with the Rev. Jeff Knight officiating. Concluding service and interment will follow at the Caballo Cemetery, Caballo, New Mexico, where she will be laid to rest. Service arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Baca's Funeral Chapels of Las Cruces, 527-2222. For online condolences log on to www.bacasfuneralchapelslascruces.com.
