Raul Joaquin Sanchez, 60, of Las Cruces and formerly of Los Angeles, California, entered eternal life Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at La Posada-Mesilla Valley Hospice. He was born April 1, 1954, in Los Angeles to Juan Patricio and Josefa Peralta Sanchez. Raul was employed in the Sanitation Department with the city of Los Angeles for over 17 years prior to relocating to Las Cruces. He was a member of the Sierra Vista Community Church. Those left to mourn his passing include four brothers, his twin, Ramon Sanchez, and Alejandro Sanchez, both of Belen, Leonard Sanchez and wife, Margarita, of Pasadena, California, and Michael Sanchez and wife, Iselda, of Hemet, California; two sisters, Margarita Sanchez and companion, Ignacio Torres, of Belen, and Patricia Flores and husband, Lionel, of Las Cruces. Other survivors include numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Raul was preceded in death by his parents. At his request, cremation will take place and a memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. today, July 26, 2014, in Sierra Vista Community Church, 514 N. Telshor, with the Rev. Henry Young officiating.
