Sherrill Bennett-Mason, 79, died July 29, 2014, in Vado, New Mexico. Sherrill was born to Orin I. Bennett and Delilah Harwood-Bennett on Nov. 27, 1934 in Grace, Idaho.
Sherrill achieved a BS in Nursing, practicing in New Mexico and west Texas, retiring from Thomason Hospital in El Paso, Texas.
Sherrill married James Laudell Mason in August 1949 and they were blessed with four children: Rodney, Sheriley (Sister), Roger (Sonny) and Delilah.
Sherrill enjoyed gardening, farming, canning, camping, traveling and sight seeing, swimming; and in later years reading, eating out, socializing and attending dances at Munson Senior Center.
Sherrill is survived by her husband of 54 years, James Laudell Mason, of the home; son Rodney L. Mason and wife Janet of Clovis, New Mexico; daughter Sheriley (Sister) Gergen of Benson, Arizona, daughter Delilah M. Mason and husband, Jesus Ortiz, of Las Cruces, New Mexico, sister Glenda Blair of Carlsbad, New Mexico; brother Roger Bennett of Bountiful, Utah; grandchildren, Rodney L Mason Jr., Buddy Gergen, Eric Gergen, Erin Gergen, Makayla Mason-Ortiz, Victor Mason Ortiz and 11 great-grandchildren.
Sherrill is preceded in death by her parents Orin and Delilah Bennett, son Roger (Sonny), brother-in-law Kenneth Blair and nephew Brian Blair.
Sherrill has requested private burial.
