Faye Gibson passed away March 02, 2010 at the age of 99. She was born in Childress, Texas on September 20, 1910 to Richard and Cara Tharp. She married Willie Gibson and moved from Snyder, Texas to Las Cruces, New Mexico taking with them their son, Bobby. Faye stayed at home and raised the family while Willie was a cotton broker for over forty-five years.

Faye is survived by her two brothers Doug Tharp and wife Mary Tharp of Deming, New Mexico and Eugene Tharp and wife Rae Tharp of Paris, Texas and her children Bob Gibson and Alice Cox. Bob's family includes his wife Dolores Gibson of Las Cruces; her daughter, Alice Cox of Las Cruces. Grandchildren include Tammy Gibson of Las Cruces, Phillip Gibson and wife Isabel of Studio City, California, Kelly and husband Brent Morris of Phoenix, Arizona, Michael Cox and fiancé Jeannette Ayon of Las Cruces, and Brian Cox and wife Annja of Las Cruces. Great grandchildren include: Travis Cox-Tovera, Kelsie Cox, Shelby Cox, Ryan Cox, Kyleigh Cox, Calvin Cox, Sydney Morris, and Ryan Morris.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband William (Willie) Gibson, son-in-law Norman "Butch" Cox, grandson Troy Cox, sisters: Thelma Rodgers, Francis Jones, and brothers: James, Richard, Claude and J.W. Tharp.
Visitation will be held at Getz Funeral Home Friday, March 05, 2010 at 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. for family and friends. A graveside service will be Saturday, March 06, 2010 at 10 a.m. at the Masonic Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Maurice Hollingsworth of First Baptist Church officiating.
