The Lord called one of his Angels home - Alfredo J. Ortiz "Freddy" - on Monday, Oct. 1, 2012. He was born July 10, 1965 in Silver City, N.M., he was 47 when the Lord called him home. He was born to Mary B. Ortiz and the late Alfredo "Porky" Mendoza. He leaves behind his loving wife of 19 years, Lydia Ortiz and a baby boy, Thomas Alfredo Ortiz and a daughter, Nadine Ortiz and the loves of his heart his grandkids; Jaden, Dominic and Johanna. Freddy had many loves he also leaves behind his true friends; Dobie, MaryJane, Lenny, Nana and Oliver. He will be remembered for always having a joke to share, building lowrider bikes for the neighborhood kids, drawing beautiful pictures and his gift of Art and always being there to help out when he was needed. He was a city cruiser who always checked in on his friends. He is also survived by his mother, Mary B. Ortiz and her companion, Frank Arzaga of Silver City, N.M., three sisters; Priscilla Ortiz of Albuquerque, N.M., Lydia Rodriguez (Gilbert) of Las Cruces, N.M. and Anna "Lulu" Ortiz (Mike) of Alamogordo, N.M., two brothers: Gilbert Ortiz of Silver City, N.M. and Richard Ortiz of Albuquerque, N.M. and his extended family, father and mother in law, Frank and Ernestina Gonzales of Las Cruces, N.M., two sisters, Eva Hernandez (Richard), Mary Arzabal (Enrique) of Las Cruces, N.M., one brother, Willie Gonzales (Cristina) of Colorado Springs, Colo.. Nieces: Ernestina Avelar (Orlando), Rema Ortiz, Sonia Ortiz, Amanda Ortiz, Andreika and Audriana Hernandez, Kassandra Ordunez, Sabrina and Samantha Arzabal, Scarletta Gonzales. Nephews; Ralph Ortiz (Evangeline), Ruven Ortiz (Mary), Daniel Placencio, Mando and Gilbert Rodriguez, Isaac Ortiz, Mando Jimenez, Michael Gonzales, Richard Hernandez, 40 great nieces and nephews as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceeded in death by his father, Alfredo "Porky" Mendoza, sister, Martha Gonzales and son Isaac. Pallbearers will be; Michael Gonzales, Isaac Ortiz, Orlando Avelar, Eddie Gonzales, Daniel Placencio, Johnny Boy Ortiz, Mando Jimenez. Honorary pallbearers; Ralph Ortiz, Ruven Ortiz, Mando Fierro. Services for Freddy are scheduled for Saturday, October 6, 2012 with visitation from 9 - 11 a.m. with a rosary to begin at 11:00 a.m., funeral service at 12 p.m. at La Paz - Graham's Funeral Home with interment to follow at Missionary Ridge.
