Dolores "Lola" M. Gonzales of San Miguel passed away on Nov. 12, 2012 at her home in San Miguel, N.M.. Dolores was born April 4, 1929 in San Miguel to Demetrio B. and Eloisa M. Gonzales. Lola enjoyed being a mom, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her times spent with her family and friends brought her joy and laughter. Lola will remain in our hearts and be truly missed. Lola was employed with Gadsden Schools for 16.5 years as a cafeteria cook at San Miguel Elementary, retiring in1991. She was also actively involved at the Senior Citizen Center in San Miguel as well as the Sacred Heart Society of San Miguel Catholic Church. Lola is survived by son Angel M. Gonzales of San Miguel, daughter Josefina G. Reyes (Jaime) of Las Cruces, N.M., and a brother Reyes M. Gonzales of Mesilla Park, N.M. She is also survived by her grandchildren: David R. Gonzales (Debi) of Las Cruces, Kelly A. Lopez of San Miguel, Daniel N. Gonzales of Odessa, Texas, Emma D. Lozoya (Hector) of Las Cruces, Erika D. Vargas (Sergio) of El Paso, Texas, Evelyn D. Reyes of Las Cruces, and Olivia A. Bernal (Eric) of Las Cruces. Also surviving her are 14 great-grandchildren including numerous nieces and nephews. Dolores was preceded in death by her parents Demetrio B and Eloisa M. Gonzales, her son Nestor M. Gonzales, brothers Francisco "Kiko", Elias, and Agustin M. Gonzales; sisters Anita G. Hernandez, Bersabe "Bersa" G. Apodaca, Luisa G. Romero and Rufina G. Martinez. Pallbearers will be David R. Gonzales, Daniel N. Gonzales, David Jacob Gonzales, Hector James Lozoya, Isaac Lopez, Jr. and Timothy Gay. Visitation will be Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012 from 5 - 6 p.m., where a prayer vigil will follow at 7 p.m. at San Miguel Catholic Church with Father Juan Moreno officiating. Funeral services will be Monday, Nov. 19, 2012 at 10 a.m. also at the same church. Burial will follow at San Miguel Cemetery where she will be laid to rest.
