Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Pablo T. Moncada, 89, of Rodey entered eternal life Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012 at Casa De Oro Care Center. He was born to Tomas and Juanita Telles Moncada on July 3, 1923 in Picacho, N.M. Mr. Moncada served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during World War II and was decorated with the Army of Occupation Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. He was a member of the Catholic Church. Those left to mourn his passing include his loving wife, Isabel Gabaldon Moncada of the family home; three sons, Pablo Moncada Jr. of Lakewood, Calif., Tom Moncada of Rodey, Greg Moncada and wife Irinea of Riverside, Calif.; a daughter, Mary Castañeda and husband Sam of Las Cruces; two sisters, Andrea Steril of Compton, Calif., Cecilia Ybarra of Monrovia, Calif. Other survivors include three grandchildren, Sammy, Orlando and Amanda Castañeda; a great-granddaughter, Anisa Uranga. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings. Visitation for Mr. Moncada will begin at 5 p.m. Monday, Dec. 3, 2012 in Our Lord of Mercy Catholic Church, 611 W. Hall in Hatch where the prayer vigil is scheduled for 6 p.m. Family and friends will join together to celebrate the funeral mass at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012 in the same church with Rev. Guillermo Rivera officiating. The rite of committal and interment will follow in the Rodey Cemetery with military honors accorded by a New Mexico National Guard Honor Guard and the Marine Corps League - El Perro Diablo Detachment.
