Vincent Hopla White, 50, son, brother, uncle, and friend passed away on Monday, May 14 at his home in Pinos Altos. Vincent graduated from Silver High School in 1979 and then joined the USAF in 1980. After a near fatal car accident, he was medically retired from the USAF in 1983 and returned to Pinos Altos. As a teenager, Vincent enjoyed hunting, trapping and fishing in the Gila Wilderness while growing up in Pinos Altos. Vincent volunteered several days a week with the Gila Regional Medical Center Hospital Auxiliary until his death. Vincent is survived by his parents, Dan and Lillian White, of Pinos Altos, two sisters, Jennifer White, of Silver City, and Rachel White, of Phoenix, two brothers, Brian White of Albuquerque and Roger White of Phoenix, aunt Jennifer Frank of London, England, good friend Jean Springler, and numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. The family requests in lieu of flowers that a donation be made to the GRMC Hospital Auxiliary. Cremation has taken place at Terrazas Crematory. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012 at 10 a.m. at St. Francis Newman Center with Father Mike Williams officiating. Inurnment will follow at Pinos Altos cemetery.
