Jesus Garcia, 90, left this world, on Dec. 26, 2012, surrounded by his loving family at home, losing his courageous battle to cancer. Jesus retired from Stahmann Farms after 25 years of service. He settled in old Mesilla, where he raised his children and went on to work at NMSU, retiring in 1984. Shortly after retirement, he moved to Doña Ana, where he enjoyed gardening and spending time with family. He was preceded in death by his son, Raymond (Shorty) Garcia. He is survived by his wife, Carmen, and children, Oscar Garcia (Adela), Jesus Garcia Jr., Yolanda Rodriguez (Arnold), Victor Garcia (Maryann), and Robert Garcia (Sylvia); grandchildren, Melissa Moreno (Kiki), Cynthia Rodriguez (Jason S.), Amanda Gonzales (Jaime), Michael Rodriguez, Joseph Garcia, Nancy Long (Calvin), Victor Garcia Jr., Ronnie Garcia, Joel Garcia, Ricky Alderete, Oscar Garcia Jr., Matilda Lujan (Jimmy); great grandchildren, Starla, Selina, Angel, Danny (bird), and many more. Selina Moreno, great granddaughter/goddaughter, has a special place in her heart for her grandfather. Selina will always cherish her conversations and memories that she shared with him. His love was unconditional and every moment spent with him will always be treasured. "I will always love you Grandpa." Visitation service will be held at La Paz-Graham's Funeral Home Chapel from 6 to 7 p.m., with a rosary to begin at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, funeral Mass will be at Our Lady of Purification in Doña Ana at 10 a.m. on Jan. 4, 2013, with Rev. Miguel Macaya officiating. Interment to follow immediately after service at Hillcrest Memorial Garden Cemetery. Pallbearers are Selina Moreno, Deanne Lujan, Michael Rodriguez, Joseph Garcia, Victor Garcia Jr., Ronnie Garcia, Joel Garcia and Martin Garcia. Arrangements are with La Paz-Graham's Funeral Home.
