Prisciliano Talavera Salido (Papi), 87, a Santa Clara resident entered eternal rest Friday, Jan. 18, 2013 at Fort Bayard Medical Center. He was born Sept. 23, 1925 in Madera Chihuahua, Mexico to Prisciliano and Gregoria Salido. Mr. Salido was a dedicated member of the apostolic church. He had a strong faith in Jesus Christ. He loved spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed gold prospecting, the outdoors, camping, treasure hunting and carpentry (building stuff). He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Catalina B. Salido of the family home; four sons, Isaac Salido (Adela) of Canutillo; Manuel Prisciliano Salido (Debbie) of Los Lunas; Enrique Salido (Christina) of Santa Clara; and Francisco Salido (Preciliana) of Las Cruces; seven daughters, Adelaida Holguin (Cayetano) of Canutillo; Maria Tapia of Albuquerque; Martha Salido of Las Cruces; Gregoria Gonzales and companion Raymond Carreon of Bayard; Luzelva Maestas of Las Cruces; Angela Salido and companion Donald Holland of Las Cruces; Jerica Quintana (Leo) of Las Cruces; 33 grandchildren; 45 great grandchildren; and one sister, Gregoria Chavez of Mexico. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, Vicente, Marcos, Esteban, Tomas and Juan Salido; and one sister, Maria Orosco. Viewing will be Thursday, Jan. 24 from 9-10 a.m. at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with the funeral service to commence at 10 a.m. with Ralph Rueda Jr. officiating. Concluding the service the interment will follow at the Hurley cemetery. Pallbearers will be Stephen Gonzales, Aaron Tapia, Andrew Salido, Ruben De La O, Sam Maestas, Isaac Salido, Keith Smallwood and Felix Holguin.
