Felicitas G. Holguin, also known as "Grandma Bingo," 80, lifelong resident of Las Cruces, entered eternal life Monday Jan. 28, 2013 at Mountain View Regional Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 4, 1932 to Panfilo and Rita Tovar Gutierrez. "Grandma Bingo" loved baseball and enjoyed watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren playing sports. Felicitas was a very simple woman with a big heart. She was a homemaker and a member of the Roman Catholic Church. Those left to mourn her passing include three sons, Guadalupe "Chape" Holguin and companion Diane Duran, Julio Holguin, Jr. and companion Cindy Iturralde, and Ray Holguin and wife Priscilla, all of Las Cruces; two daughters, Maria Dolores Trujillo and husband Gilbert and Rosemary Narvaez and companion Armando Ruiz; a daughter-in-law, Esther Holguin, and one sister, Manuela Brito, all also of Las Cruces. Other survivors include 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Julio Holguin, Sr. a son, George G. Holguin, one brother, Marcos Gutierrez and a sister, Mary Chavarria. Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013 in Baca's Chapel of Prayer, 300 E. Boutz Road, where the prayer vigil is scheduled for 7 p.m. Family and friends will join together to celebrate the funeral mass at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013 at St. Genevieve's Catholic Church, 100 S. Espina St. The rite of committal and interment will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her husband. Serving as casket bearers will be Michael and Sal Holguin, Gilbert Monsivaiz, Ray Holguin, Jr., Evan Narvaez and Daniel Sanchez. Honorary bearers will be Elias Rivera, Evan "Isaiah" Narvaez, Angeal Alvarez, Orlando, Santana and Estevan Guerra.
