Beverly Anne Carnes Buzbee passed away in Franklin, Tenn. on Dec. 30, 2012, from complications of leukemia. She was born July 27, 1946, in Minneapolis, Minn. and adopted by Margaret and Kenneth Carnes that same year. The family moved to Las Cruces, N.M., in 1956, where Bev attended Alameda Junior High and graduated from Las Cruces High School in 1964. She was active in the youth group of the Las Cruces Church of the Nazarene and Youth for Christ, and always looked forward to the Nazarene summer camps at Bonita Park, N.M. Bev retired in 2011 from Mephisto Shoe Co. in Franklin. She is survived by her son, Eric Pieper of Oroville, Calif.; sister, Bonita (Richard) Carroll of Wasilla, Alaska; brother, Keith (Frances) Carnes of Riverside, Calif.; cherished granddaughters, Violet and Rose Pieper; and several nieces. She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Carnes. Her mother, Margaret Carnes, died on Jan. 4, 2013. Bev's funeral service was held in Franklin on Jan. 21, 2013, with burial of cremains to be arranged at a later date.
