Lois Lundstedt King passed to her heavenly father and awaiting family, her parents Carl and Ellen, and brother Robert Lundstedt on March 11, 2013. She was born Nov. 27, 1927 in Rock Island, Ill. She attended Augistana University where she earned a degree in Biology, and met her husband William Edward King. They married on June 10, 1951. From there she began her career as a wife, mother and elementary school teacher. Lois and Bill moved to Las Cruces in 1965. He taught at NMSU, and she taught second grade at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parochial School while raising their daughter, Karen. After over 20 years of teaching, she retired from the school system to become a full-time grandmother. She enjoyed traveling, spending time with family, and decorating for church functions at Peace Lutheran Church in Las Cruces. She will always be remembered for her kind spirit, infectious smile and her love of life. In recent years she moved to Deming to be closer to her daughter Karen. She is survived by her husband, William; her daughter Karen Gordon (John); grandchildren Brent Gordon (Krista) of Albuquerque and Brooke Gordon of New York City; and her great grandchildren Elle Marie and Iyla Mae Gordon. Also surviving are the wife and children of her brother, including her best friend and sister-in-law Ruth Lundstedt; nephews Tom (Char), Dave, Bob (Michelle) and Paul (Karin).
