Christopher "Sean" Rose, 53, lost his battle with cancer April 9, 2013, Las Cruces, N.M. He was born Jan. 4, 1960 in Jamaica, N.Y. and grew up in Carrollton, Ga., graduating from Villa Rica High School in 1978. In May 1980 Sean enlisted in the U.S. Air Force where he served honorably for 26 years, first as a linguist and then as an intel analyst. During 26 years of distinguished service he called England, Maryland, Alaska, Texas and Germany home. This Gulf War veteran mentored many young NCOs into productive and successful airmen and retired as a SMSgt in May 2006. He was a devoted husband of 31 years and a loving father. Sean had a passion for travel and history. He graduated with a BA in history from the University of Maryland in 2002. Life with Sean was filled with wit, humor, endless facts and a love immeasurable. Sean's greatest role in life was that of Grandpa. He is survived by his wife, Laura Rose; his daughter, Megan Starr; son-in-law, Patric Starr; his beloved grandson, Declan Starr of Reno, Nev.; mother Rosemary Rose of Carrollton; sister and brothers, Ursula Rose of Atlanta, Ga., Andrew Rose, Justin Rose, Laurence Rose, of Carrollton, Ga. And Stuart Rose, of Atlanta; two nephews, two nieces and two great-nephews. He is preceded in death by his natural parents William W. Rose and Mary Jane Rose.
