James Marvin Yielding, 82, passed away on April 19, 2013 at Sierra Health Care Center. James (Jim) was born in Belton, Texas on Feb. 23, 1931 to Roy and Euda Mae (Powell) Yielding. He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force and was an aerospace mechanical technician; he received the Snoopy Award from astronaut Russell Schweickart. This award was for a significant factor in the Altitude Simulation System, to the Lunar Module System for NASA. Mr. Yielding is survived by his wife of 57 years, Neva Yielding of the family home in Las Cruces, N.M.; his son, Gary Yielding and wife, Mariann of Washington state; daughters, Debbie Sanchez and husband, David of Ruidoso, N.M. and Dianna Yielding of Las Cruces; grandchildren, Jessica Underwood, Aaron Yielding, Justin Yielding, Lauren Yielding, Keena Yielding, Kellie Swantech, Aaron T. Castle, Domonique Sanchez, Destiny Sanchez and Deanna Sanchez and seven great-grandchildren; his brothers, Weldon Yielding, J.W., Bill; and sisters, Mary and Joyce. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Melvin Yielding. "Daddies don't just love their children every now and then. It's a love without end, amen."
