Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Maria P. Campos, 71, of San Miguel entered eternal life Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at La Posada – Mesilla Valley Hospice surrounded by her loving family. She was born Sept. 15, 1941 in Santa Barbara, Chihuahua, Mexico to Sotero and Casimira Reyes Franco. Maria worked many years at Stahmann Farms and retired from the Gadsden Independent School District as a cook. She was a member of the Family Worship and Praise Center. Survivors include her loving husband, Adalberto P. Campos of the family home; two sons, Adalberto Campos Jr. and wife Debbie of Mesquite, Ernesto Campos and companion Laura Avila of Las Cruces; daughter, Lupe F. Campos of San Miguel; two brothers, Patrocinio Franco of Fontana, California, Jesse Franco of Rio Rancho; three sisters, Julie Crocker of Rio Rancho, Mary Moreno of Meadow Valley, Calif., and Elvira Garza of Santa Ana, Calif. Other survivors include four grandchildren, Jazmyn, Janella, Chipper and Skye Campos; and a granddaughter, Xennaya Campos-Garcia. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Manuel and Concepcion "Chon" Franco. Visitation for Maria will begin at 6 p.m. Friday, May 17, 2013 in Family Worship and Praise Center, 1205 Ridgetop where the evening service is scheduled for 7 p.m. The funeral service will be held Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 11 a.m. in the same church with Pastor Matthew Garcia officiating. Concluding service and interment will follow in Masonic Cemetery, 760 S. Compress where she will lay to rest.
