Margarita O. Ruiz, 76, of Las Cruces entered eternal life to be with the Lord our Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born Aug. 2, 1936 in Las Cruces to Jose Perez and Gregoria Ortega. Margarita was a homemaker and her passion was for her children, grandchildren and family who will miss her dearly. Those left to mourn her passing include her loving husband, Raymond Ruiz of the family home; son, Raymond Ruiz Jr. and wife Debra; daughter, Maryanne Richards; and a sister, Catarina Nevarez, all of Las Cruces. Other survivors include two grandsons, Daniel Sambrano and Jacob Perez; two granddaughters, Irene Baker and Jacqueline Ruiz; five great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Irene Rose; three brothers, Frank and Alfredo Ordunez, and Ruben Ortega; and a sister, Maria Carbajal. Visitation for Margarita will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 16, 2013 in Baca's Chapel of Prayer, 300 E. Boutz Road where the evening service is scheduled for 7 p.m. The funeral service will be held Friday, May 17, 2013 at 10 a.m. in the same chapel with Pastor Mark Jordan officiating. Concluding services and interment will follow in Masonic Cemetery, 760 S. Compress Road where she will lay to rest. Serving as casket bearers will be Daniel Sambrano, Michael Chavez, Richard Garcia Jr., Michael Alvarez, Daniel and Manuel Ruiz. Honorary bearers will be Larry Raught, Daniel Padilla and Jacob Ruiz.
