Daniel Ray Franco, 22, was born on Portland, Ore. on Dec. 29, 1990 and entered eternal life on June 3, 2013. He grew up in Las Cruces, N.M. and currently resided in Midland, Texas. His final days were spent in Las Cruces surrounded by family and friends whom Daniel had touched in many ways throughout his very memorable life. Daniel's life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by him understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. His wonderful sense of humor could melt the hearts of those around him, if you were around Daniel he was making you laugh. Although Daniel's illness made him appear frail, he possessed strength, perseverance and an ability to overcome incredible and physical challenges. With his courage he led us to believe that each day is a blessing and an opportunity to create lasting memories. His ultimate love was the Dallas Cowboys and he always wore his team's jerseys with pride. With Daniel's passing we remind others that his life is one to be celebrated. Although we will miss him everyday, he will forever remain in our hearts. Daniel is survived by his mom Irma Muñoz; his father Jose Franco Jr; stepdad Joe Muñoz; stepmother Nancy Franco; sisters Mariah and Daniella Franco, Reina Muñoz, Jeanatte Blanco and brother Daniel Muñoz; maternal grandparents Guadalupe and Antoñia Nieto of Las Cruces; paternal grandparents Jose and Josephina Franco of Las Cruces. He is also survived by numerous uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his great uncle Gustavo Chávez. Visitation was scheduled for Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at La Paz - Graham's Funeral Home Chapel from 6 - 7 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. Funeral service will be on Thursday, June 6, 2013 at 1 p.m. at St. Genevieve's Catholic Church with interment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are with La Paz - Graham's Funeral Home. 575-526-6891.
