Lydia Lopez, 92, a resident of Silver City, N.M., entered eternal rest Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2013. at Silver City Care Center. She was born July 3, 1921. in Santa Rita to Andres Walters and Margarita Quinoñez. She is survived by one son, Edmund Lopez and wife Gloria of Silver City; two daughters, Dolores McEuen of Silver City; Margaret Salaiz and husband Rudy of San Manuel, Ariz.; daughter-in-law, Alma Lopez of Silver City; 21 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Tranquilino Lopez; one son, Andy Lopez; three brothers, Ted, Albert and Edwardo Walters; three sisters, Tillie Munoz, Jenny and Margaret Ramos. Viewing will be Monday, Aug. 26 from 4-6 p.m. at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with the vigil service and holy rosary being recited by Deacon Bill Holguin to begin at 6 p.m. The funeral liturgy will be celebrated Tuesday, Aug. 27. at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church with Father Paulus Kao officiating. Concluding service interment will follow at Fort Bayard National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Adrian, Isaac, Paul and Chris Lopez, Gabriel Aguilar and Jonathan Gantz.
