Kearney, Adam
Adam J. Kearney Lebanon Adam Joseph Kearney, 21, passed away Thursday, May 19, 2016. Born in Lebanon on February 13, 1995, Adam was a son of Patrick and Kim (Boltz) Kearney of Lebanon. Adam was a lifelong member of St. Cecilia's Church where he served as an altar boy and volunteered for the annual fish dinners and summer festivals. Adam worked since the age of 16, holding jobs at Ruby Tuesday's, Giant Foods, Houlihan's, and Webber's Saw Mill. It wasn't until he began working alongside Albert Timmens, a local contractor turned mentor, that Adam found his calling. Although challenging at times, the satisfaction he gained only inspired him to do more, eventually learning how to build a home from the ground up under "Bert's" watchful eye. After putting in a full day at a job site, it wasn't uncommon for Adam to work a few more hours for his Uncle Paul, also a contractor, ripping cleats for new shelving, reshingling roofs, or helping to frame a deck. He learned quickly what he was able to accomplish with the strong, capable, hard working hands that God gave him. Adam also had a love for the outdoors - especially hiking and biking. He was active on the wrestling team in high school and had a natural talent in the kitchen that often resulted in exotic dishes. Adam was a free spirit who worked, played, and loved with extraordinary passion. He was generous and selfless and surrounded himself with happiness and laughter. Those closest to Adam knew that under his tough exterior was a gentle, warm hearted boy who mowed the lawns and shoveled the walks of elderly neighbors without being asked and made breakfast for his mom on Mother's Day complete with a side of heart shaped toast. This is the legacy that Adam leaves behind - one of selflessness, kindness, and unconditional love. In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother, Connor, his paternal grandmother, Sandra Hoffer; maternal grandfather, Roger Boltz; three aunts, Suzanne Allen, wife of Robert; Melissa Heim, wife of Richard; and Angela Rios, wife of Bob; an uncle, Paul Boltz; paternal great-grandmother, Jane Hoffer; and 12 cousins, Katie, Erin, Michael, Mary, John, Joseph, Emily, Sophia, Sarah, James, Jude, and Susie. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Suzanne D. Boltz and paternal grandfather, James A. Kearney. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 26th at St. Cecilia's Church, 202 E. Lehman Street, Lebanon. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Viewing hours will be held prior to Mass from 9:30 to 11 at church. In lieu of flowers, donations in Adam 's name may be made to St. Cecilia's Church or Our Lady of Angels Convent, 609 Convent Road, Aston, PA 19014 . Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. is entrusted with the arrangements. Please share your thoughts and memories with the family at our online guest book at thompsonfuneralhomelebanon.com
