Blanche A. Ruoss

Blanche A. Ruoss MYERSTOWN Blanche A. Ruoss, 92, died Friday, March 7, 2014, at the Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon. She was the wife of Samuel Ruoss, to whom she was married 71 years on October 24, 2013. Born in Reading, on June 2, 1921, she was the daughter of the late J. Howard and Estella (Moore) Kessler. She was a 1940 graduate of Morgantown High School, and was employed as a house parent at Bethany Children's Home, Womelsdorf, for 14 years, retiring in 1985. She also worked at the Harris Store in Myerstown, and as a floral designer at Royer's Flowers, Lebanon, for five years. She was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church, Myerstown. Mrs. Ruoss is survived by daughters, Sylvia, wife of Felix Perrero of Palmyra, Carol, wife of Michael Patches of Newmanstown, and Susan, wife of Kenneth Shirk of Mt. Zion; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister, Valeria Hoy of Mt. Penn; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Rodney Shuey. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at 10 a.m. from Grose Funeral Home, 358 W. Washington Ave., Myerstown. There will be no viewing or visitation. Interment will be at Grand View Memorial Park, Annville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Friedens Lutheran Church, 301 W. Washington Ave., Myerstown, PA 17067; or Bethany Children's Home, 1863 Bethany Road, Womelsdorf, PA 19567.
