Clyde J. Umberger LEBANON Clyde John Umberger, 76, passed away of natural causes on Tuesday, February 25, 2014, at the M. S. Hershey Medical Center. He was the husband of Peggy (Hoffman) Umberger. Born in Lebanon on March 9, 1937, Clyde was a son of the late William and Helen (Shay) Umberger. He graduated from Lebanon Sr. High School in 1956. He was retired from the Carpenter's Local Union of Harrisburg, in which he worked for 30 years. He was a member of St. Cecilia's Church, where he volunteered on the festival committee and on many occasions for their fundraisers. He was also a member of the Holy Name Society and a life member of the Ebenezer Fire Company, where he volunteered for many fundraisers they had, and was the past treasurer of the Fire Company. He liked to travel, go to the casino and attend sports events in Philadelphia and Dallas, Texas. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Joel Umberger, at home and Scott Umberger, of Mt. Zion; one grandson, Justin Umberger, of Lebanon; three brothers, Charles, William and Robert Umberger; two sisters, Kass Adams and Helen Fetzer; also several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Herbert Umberger, and two sisters, Jean Piper and Ruth Tobias. Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
