Earl Leibig

Earl Leibig WERNERSVILLE Earl Leibig, 84, passed away Thursday, October 10, 2013, at the Reading Hospital & Medical Center. He was the husband of Elmira M. (Strickler) Leibig, with whom he shared 64 years of marriage on June 25, 2013. Born in Lebanon, he was the son of the late Carl Leibig and Mary (Greiser) Kurtz. He was an Army Veteran. He retired in 1991 after more than 30 years from Rockwell International, having previously worked for Cornwall Ore Mines. He was a member of the Newmanstown Athletic Assoc., Richland American Legion, and the Marian Rod and Gun. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Randall Leibig of Robesonia, and Robert Leibig of Lincoln, Del.; three daughters, Charlotte Hernley of Newmanstown, Cheryl Ruth, wife of Ted of Wernersville, and Carol Olson, wife of Tom of Elizabethtown; a brother, Ronald Kurtz of Florida; three sisters, Ethel Erby of Myerstown, Evelyn Sites of Myerstown, and Eileen Derr, wife of Jake of Myerstown; seven grandchildren, Kelli, Randy, Dean, Brian, Angelica, Brian, and Barry; and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Donald, Rick, and Robert Kurtz; a sister, Geraldine Schware; and two grandchildren, Robert Leibig, Jr. and Eric Olson. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Lamm & Witman Funeral Home, 243 W. Penn Ave., Wernersville. Friends are invited to call 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
