SERVICE HAS BEEN CHANGED TO 10:30 A.M. MONDAY, FEBRUARY 17, WITH VISITATION 9:30 TO 10:30 A.M. PRIOR TO THE SERVICE. Lt. Col. Harvey D. Hartman, Jr. ANNVILLE Lt. Col. Harvey D. Hartman, Jr., 89, passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2014. He was born November 15, 1924, in Palmyra to Harvey D. Hartman, Sr. and Maggie A. (Wolfersberger) Hartman. He graduated from Annville High School in 1942, and entered the U.S. Army in 1943 and served in the infantry and the occupation of Japan. He attended Lebanon Business College in 1947. He also served in the Army Reserves as an administrative assistant until his retirement in 1984. He was a graduate of Infantry Officers School, Command and General Staff School, and several Army correspondence courses. He was a member of the Annville American Legion and Zion Lutheran Church. Harvey is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marion E. (Gemmill) Hartman; his son, Dr. Richard D. Hartman and wife Barbara of New Jersey; daughter, Judy L. Brightbill and husband Robert of Lebanon; daughter, Kay M. Tucker of Washington, D.C.; and grandchildren, Jonathan Brightbill and wife Ashley, Matthew Brightbill and fiancee Ellie Hansen; and Adrienne Tucker. He was preceded in death by a son, Michael J. Hartman. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to the Michael J. Hartman Scholarship Fund, Cedar Crest High School, 115 E. Evergreen Road, Lebanon, PA 17042; or Zion Lutheran Church, 28 N. 9th St., Lebanon, PA 17046. A funeral service will be held at Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory, 618 E. Main St., Annville on Monday, February 17, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. with a visitation 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the service.
