James A. Wilhelm LEBANON James A. Wilhelm passed away Sunday, June 8, 2014, at the age of 88 at his home in Lebanon. He was the husband of Marion Geib Wilhelm, to whom he was married for 66 years. Born in Lebanon on April 24, 1926, he was the son of the late J. Anson and Clare Hottenstein Wilhelm. Jim was a graduate of Lebanon High School in 1944 and Lebanon Valley College in 1950, majoring in Business, Law, and Economics. He served in the Active and Inactive U.S. Army as a Lieutenant in the South Pacific and, at the end of World War II, was with MacArthur's occupation of Japan. Having seen the total destruction of Hiroshima, Osaka, Nagoya and Tokyo, he realized that war is a plague on mankind. He served on the Lebanon City School Board for over eight years. He was a past president and a member of the Lebanon Kiwanis Club for 54 years. He was a charter member of the Church of the Good Shepherd, a 30-year member of the PA Petroleum Association. He served on the Lebanon County Board of View since 1985 and was a member of the Lebanon Country Club since 1982. In 1962, he founded Wilhelm Supply Company, a petroleum marketing business serving five counties. He enjoyed traveling, photography, golf, sports and rooting for the Eagles and the Phillies. Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Robert J.; and daughter, Wendy W. Hanford; grandson, Aubrey Ryan husband of Samantha (Yingst) Hanford; and granddaughter, Whitney Nicole Hanford. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to a memorial service on Sunday, June 22, 2014 at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 1500 Quentin Road, Lebanon, PA 17042 at 2 p.m. A visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service. Jim will be interred at the National Cemetery at Fort Indiantown Gap at the convenience of the family.
