John E. Rothenheber

John E. Rothenheber MYERSTOWN John E. Rothenheber, 83, formerly of Buckingham, died Thursday, January 24, 2013, at his home. He was the husband of Ione M. (Smith) Rothenheber, to whom he would have been married 41 years on June 10, 2013. Born in Troy, N.Y., on February 13, 1929, he was the son of the late Henry and Elizabeth (Lently) Rothenheber. A 1948 graduate of Abington High School, he served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was employed as a carpenter by several construction companies during his 51 year career including Nason & Cullen General Contractors, King of Prussia, from which he retired in 1992. He was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church, Myerstown, and was a former member of the Moose Lodge of Willow Grove. In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters, Ann, wife of Danny Fretz of Telford, and Darlene Rotz of Auburn; sons, Duane, husband of Lois Jessup of Huntingdon Valley, John III, husband of Donna Rothenheber of Trenton, Maine, and Dennis, husband of Caroline Jessup of Hatboro; 12 grandchildren; brothers, Henry, husband of Eleanor Rothenheber of Oreland, and Edward, husband of Roberta Rothenheber of Myerstown; three nephews; and one niece. He was preceded in death by a son, John E. Rothenheber Jr.; a nephew, Thomas Rothenheber; a granddaughter, Catherine Jessup; and a son-in-law, Greg Rotz. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 29, 2013, from Grose Funeral Home, 358 W. Washington Ave., Myerstown. There will be no viewing or visitation. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to GSH Hospice, P.O.Box 1281, Lebanon, PA 17042.
