John H. Altland

YORK HAVEN John H. Altland, 89, of Newberry Township, died at 6:54 p.m. Wednesday at his residence. He was the husband of the late Joyce E. (Shaffer) Altland. Born April 12, 1923. in York, a son of the late Caleb Altland, he was retired from Yorktowne Paper Mills, and prior to that worked for York Haven Paper Mill, and Standard Concrete. After retirement he also worked for Beshore and Koller Ford in Manchester. He was a member of the Wago Club and a life member of the 12th Ward Democratic Club. He was a former member of the Rooster Club, Mount Wolf Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Goldsboro Fireman's Club. Mr. Altland is survived by five sons, Brian K. Altland, and his wife JoAnn, of Mount Wolf, Randy A. Altland, and his wife Minh, of Lebanon, Kevin H. Altland of York Haven, Kerry E. Altland, and his partner Steve Leiphart, of York, and Wendell D. Altland, and his wife Martha, of Williamstown; two daughters, Deborah J. Mansberger, and her husband Daniel, of York Haven, and D. Jane Altland, and her companion Dr. Stephen Grim, of Manchester; 14 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Dawn J. Myers and a grandson, Dustin E. Altland. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at William E. Little Funeral Homes, Inc., 60 S. Main St., Manchester, with The Rev. Darby J. Nace, officiating.
