Larry W. Peckenschneider MYERSTOWN Larry W. Peckenschneider, 79, died Monday, May 6, 2013, at StoneRidge Poplar Run, Myerstown. He was the husband of Sheila G. (Garber) Peckenschneider to whom he would have been married 56 years on June 14. Born in Storm Lake, Iowa on June 7, 1933, he was the son of the late Harry H. and Laura K. (Kielhorn) Peckenschneider. A 1951 graduate of Marcus High School, Marcus, Iowa, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War and retired from the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. He was employed as a casualty claims agent by Erie Insurance in Lebanon and Lancaster Counties for 30 years retiring in 1986. A charter member of the Marine Corps League, Lebanon, he enjoyed genealogy. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Pilar Sholley of Annville; sons, Bret W. Peckenschneider of Lebanon, Michael R., husband of Kim Peckenschneider of Newmanstown; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; three nieces, one nephew, and two grandnephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Colin D. Peckenschneider in 1995; and a brother, Loren Peckenschneider. Services are private with interment being held at the convenience of the family at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Marine Corps League, c/o John Gingrich (past commandant), 425 Maple St., Lebanon, PA 17046.
