Mervin E. Blauch

Mervin E. Blauch PALMYRA Mervin E. Blauch, 87, passed away Sunday, February 3, 2013, in the Lebanon VA Medical Center. Born November 7, 1925, in North Annville Township, Lebanon County, he was a son of the late Earl and Lillian (Mumma) Blauch. A retired supervisor from Bethlehem Mines, Annville, he was a member of Steelstown Evangelical Congregational Church, the Elstonville Sportsman Association, Dela-Ches Fishing Association, and Palmyra VFW. He was a life member of Hershey, Campbelltown and Palmyra American Legions and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II from 1942-1947 serving in both the Atlantic and Pacific engagements on the USS Holton and USS Frybarger. He was the widower of Ruth K. (Raynes) Blauch and also preceded in death by five siblings. Surviving are his three children, Donna, wife of Carroll Rodgers, Dennis, husband of Deborah Blauch, and Deann, wife of Matthew Silks all of Palmyra; sister, Thelma, wife of Dale Hostetter of Bellegrove; brothers, Lester, husband of Marlene Blauch and Karl Blauch all of Annville; grandchildren, Jeffrey, husband of Joyce Rodgers of Richmond, Virginia, Bethany, wife of Gene Stevenson of Frackville, Brandon Blauch of Harrisburg, and Draven Silks of Palmyra; and great-grandchildren, Joshua, Jonathan, Katherine, and Caroline Rodgers of Richmond, Virginia and Aria, Noah, and Lily Stevenson of Frackville. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, February 8, 2013 at Buse Funeral Home, 145 N. Grant St., Palmyra preceded by a viewing from 10 a.m. Interment, with military honors, will be in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Palmyra. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
