Susan Lee Kuner

Susan Lee Kuner ALAMEDA, CA Susan Lee Kuner passed away in San Francisco on Thursday, January 3, 2013. She was born February 16, 1944, in Lebanon, lived in many cities, and moved to Alameda in 2000. She was the daughter of Dr. Harold and Mrs Edith Krohn and graduated from Lebanon High School in 1961. Susan earned a BA in Philosophy at Belmont University in Nashville, Tenn., and a Master's degree in 1993 and a Doctorate in Education from Peabody College at Vanderbilt University in 1998. She then joined the Vanderbilt faculty teaching students in Nashville, San Francisco, and Alameda. She was a program developer and evaluator of Federal grants in the areas of watershed studies, Astrobiology, American history, and K-12 science education. She has numerous technical publications, and was an author of Internet for the Inclusive Classroom and Speak the Language of Healing, published by Conari Press, which won the Independent Publisher Book Awards for Health and Medicine in 2000. She is survived by her husband, Vakil; her sister, Rae; and brother, Dennis; her children, Afsal and Satya; and her grandchildren, Sophia, Marquez, and Pascal.
