Alta Musser Obituary

EPHRATA Alta B. Musser, 94, formerly of Newmanstown, died Monday, August 29, 2011, in the Fairmount Home, Ephrata. She was the wife of Phares H. Musser, who died in 2006. She was born September 20, 1916, in East Earl Township, Lancaster County, a daughter of the late Amos H. and Fannie S. Burkhart Zimmerman. She was a homemaker, enjoyed quilting, and was a member of the Fairview Mennonite Church of the Weaverland Conference, Myerstown. Surviving are children, Earl Z., husband of Edith Musser, and Phares Z., husband of Frances Musser, both of Newmanstown, Mary Z., wife of Leon B. Eberly of Leesport, Paul Z., husband Norma Musser of Womelsdorf, Samuel Z., husband of Kathleen Musser of Ephrata, Melvin Z., husband of Elsie Musser of Loganton, Amos Z., husband of Joanne Musser of McVeytown, and Carl Z., husband of Wanda Musser of Stevens; 31 grandchildren; and 78 great-grandchildren. She was the last survivor of her family. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Musser; eight brothers; three sisters; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Funeral service will be held on Friday, September 2, at 9:30 a.m. in the Weaverland (Conference) Mennonite Church, 1116 Weaverland Road, East Earl, with Bishop Frank Honing, Lloyd Burkholder, Clarence Weaver, and Harlan Nolt officiating. Interment will follow in the adjoining church cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Wheat Ridge Chapel of Fairmount Home, 333 Wheat Ridge Drive, Ephrata. Kindly omit flowers.
