Abner Zook Obituary

Abner K. Zook NEWMANSTOWN Abner K. Zook, 89, entered into rest at his residence on Monday, March 22, 2010. He was the husband of Emma F. Glick Zook, with whom he shared 66 years of marriage. He was born in Lancaster on January 27, 1921, son of the late Amos D. and Annie King Zook. He was a well known artist and craftsman, especially for his over 800 3-D paintings. He was a member of the Schaefferstown Mennonite Church. In addition to his wife he is survived by sons, John, husband of Joyce Groff Zook, Hilton Head Island, S.C., Benuel, husband of Martha Glaze Zook, Philadelphia, Elmer Zook, Portland Ore., Amos, husband of Geraldine McDonald Zook, Vananda, B.C. Canada, and Raymond, husband of Jane Martin Zook, Mendon, Mass.; daughters, Nancy, wife of Larry Weaver, Womelsdorf, and Verna, wife of J. Elvin Horst, Newmanstown; 30 grandchildren; two foster grandchildren; 48 greatgrandchildren; sisters, Fannie Stoltzfus, Myerstown, Barbara, wife of Jacob Riehl, Lewisburg; and brother, Amos D. Zook Jr, Leola. He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Aaron Zook; brothers, Benjamin Zook, Elmer Zook, Isaac Zook; and sisters, Miriam Zook, Anna Mary Zook and Nancy Allgyer. Funeral services Friday at 10 a.m. in Schaefferstown Mennonite Church, 625 N. Market St., Myerstown, PA 17067, where a viewing will be held Thursday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Interment will be made in the adjoining church cemetery. Please omit flowers. Clauser Funeral Home, Inc, Schaefferstown, is in charge of the arrangements.
