Donald S. Fowler MT. GRETNA Donald S. Fowler, son of Stanley and Elizabeth Fowler, formerly from Mt. Gretna and Quentin, passed away on February 5, 2013, in Mt. Gretna. Don was born in Mt. Gretna on December 1, 1925, attended grade school in Quentin where he skipped third grade, and graduated from Cornwall High School as valedictorian in 1942. He joined the Army Air Corps during World War II. After the war, he attended Lebanon Valley College, Sampson College on Seneca Lake, New York, and graduated from the University of New Mexico with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. He remained in Albuquerque, where he married Louise Longenbach of Lebanon. They built their own home while raising their family. They also built a home in Grand Lake, Colo. In recent years, he and Louise lived in Camden, Maine. He was predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Louise, in April. He is survived by his sons, J. Scott Fowler of Rio Rancho, N.M, and Terry L. Fowler of Denver, Colo.; and a daughter, Mardi McTeer of Hope, Maine; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He fulfilled his desire to live his final days in Mt. Gretna.
