Doris M. McCurdy Obituary
Doris M. McCurdy ANNVILLE Doris M. McCurdy, 84, went home to be with her Lord with her family by her side on Sunday, February 24, 2013. Born April 6, 1928 in Palmyra, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Grace (Summers) Hoffer and was also preceded in death by brother, Donald Hoffer and sister, Ruth Reigle. A member of Palm Lutheran Church, she had visited shut-ins, was a former employee of Bauer's Shoe Store, Palmyra, and had volunteered at the Elizabethtown State Hospital for Crippled Children. She had a stand at the Annville Antique Depot for many years and her other passions included shopping, painting, cooking, and baking, especially known for her muffins. Surviving are her husband of 65 years, Harry F. McCurdy; children: Patricia A., wife of Jeff Kurtz of Bartlett, Tenn., Kathleen L., wife of John Wieland of Annville, Brian D., husband of Babette McCurdy of Annville, Debra K., wife of Fred Zullo of Lebanon, Marilyn S. McCurdy of Wernersville, Franklin K., husband of Brynn McCurdy of Annville, Harry J., husband of Lynn McCurdy of Tampa, Fla., John D., husband of Cindy McCurdy of Annville, and Angel E. McCurdy-Nye, wife of James Nye of Palmyra; 21 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held 12 Noon Thursday at Palm Lutheran Church, 11 W. Cherry St., Palmyra, preceded by a visitation from 11 a.m. Private interment will be in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Palmyra.
