James H. Adams Sr. LANCASTER James H. Adams Sr., 70, of 496 N. Lancaster St., Jonestown, passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2007, at The Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon. He was the husband of Ruth A. Shirk Adams and would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Feb. 16th. Born in Union Township, on July 27, 1936, he was the son of the late Herman J. and Kathryn E. Walmer Adams. He was the former owner and operator of the Jim Adams Mobil in Lickdale, and currently was the co-owner and operator of A+A Vending of Jonestown. He was a member of the Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Jonestown, and former member and vice president of the former Jonestown Jaycees. He served in the National Guards. In addition to his wife he is survived by his sons James H. Adams of Jonestown, David P., husband of Loralie Adams of Myerstown, and Brian D. Adams of Jonestown; a daughter Mary A., wife of Dale Gruber of Lebanon; brothers John of Alpena, Mich., Herman of Corbin, Ky., Lester of Lebanon, Ronald of Lancaster, Samuel of Jonestown, Robert of Grantville and Glenn of Jonestown; sisters Eleanor Peiffer of Lebanon, Margaret Miller of Annville and Cynthia Gettle of Lebanon; five grandchildren, Jeremiah Gruber, Jessica Hoffman, Nicole Adams, Justin Gruber and Joshua Adams. He was preceded in death by brothers Kenneth and Henry Adams and a sister Doris Weller. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2007, at 2 p.m. at the Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 103 E. Market St., Jonestown. The viewing will be one hour prior to the service.
