Joseph W. Kunder LEBANON Joseph W. Kunder, 88, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 22, 2014. He was the husband of the late Marian J. nee Betz Kunder. He was born in Lebanon on March 23, 1926, a son of the late Joseph and Mary Kaiser Kunder. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served aboard the U.S.S. Quincy, and he participated in the Invasion of Normandy. Joe was retired from Everite Knitting Mills with over 45 years of service, where he had served as a supervisor and cutting room foreman. He had also worked at Cedar Haven, Bannon Mills and the Lebanon Federal Credit Union. He worshipped at Living Waters Chapel, and, along with his beloved wife, Joe, enjoyed spending time at McDonald's just talking with young people. He cherished time spent with his family. Joe also enjoyed bowling at Cedar Lanes and was the Singles/Doubles Champion for the 1957-58 season. He loved bowling so much that in recent years he could be found just watching the bowlers at Cedar Lanes on several nights each week. Joe is survived by sons, Joseph Kunder, Jr. and wife Kathy, Lebanon, Robert Kunder, Myerstown; grandchildren, Joseph Kunder III and wife Tina, Kimberly wife of Daryl Hackman; great-grandchildren, Terry, Daryl, Jr., Deanna, Doug and Danielle. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers, John and George Kunder; and sisters, Catherine Faust, Barbara Soliday, Appalonia Kirsch, Eva Bomberger. Funeral services will be on Friday at 11 a.m. in the Rohland Funeral Home, 508 Cumberland St., Lebanon, PA 17042, where a viewing will be held beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will be made with full military honors in Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Lebanon County MH/ID/EI, 220 E. Lehman St., Lebanon, PA 17046.
