Mary Ann Brossman REHRERSBURG Mary Ann Brossman, 61, died Wednesday, April 30, 2014, in the Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon. Born September 11, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Schuyler Calvin and Gladys Emmaline (Miller) Brossman. She shared her home with her cat, Ginger. Mary Ann was a 1970 graduate of Tulpehocken High School. Earning a Bachelor of Library Science degree, she was a December 1973 graduate of Kutztown State College. In 1974 she was hired as an elementary school librarian by the Tulpehocken Area School District, serving at the Penn Bernville Elementary School. Later in her career she earned a Master's Equivalency degree from the state of Pennsylvania. Mary Ann retired in June 2010 after 36 years of service to the district. Brossman was a lifelong member of Altalaha Lutheran Church, Rehrersburg. She served many terms on the Church Council as well as secretary of the Council. A Sunday School and Bible School director and teacher, she sang with the choir over 40 years. In 2003, she served as secretary of the Rehrersburg Bicentennial Celebration Committee. She was a charter member of the Andulhea Heritage Center, Rehrersburg, serving as member and secretary of the Board of Directors. Mary Ann is survived by a sister, Diane Louise Bell, wife of Linn Eugene Bell of Harrisburg; and a brother, Mark Alan Brossman of Rehrersburg, and his companion, Janet Vonada. She is also survived by a niece, Rachel Emmaline Bell, and a nephew, Adam Nathaniel Bell, both of Harrisburg; and an aunt, Jean Deysher of Blandon, wife of the late Luther Deysher. Services will be held Monday, May 5, 2014, at 11 a.m. in Altalaha Lutheran Church, Rehrersburg, with Pastor Scott Stevenson officiating. Interment will follow in Altalaha Church Cemetery. A viewing will be held Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. Hill Funeral Home, Rehrersburg, is handling arrangements.
