Geneva B. Gingrich PALMYRA Geneva Blanch (Fordemwalt) Gingrich, 90, passed away at home on Friday, May 9, 2014. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Kenneth R. Gingrich, in 1989. She was born Tuesday, June 12, 1923, in Kansas City, Mo., to the late Amos and Jeanetta (Lewis) Fordemwalt. Geneva retired as a secretary from the Department of Agriculture. She was a faithful member of Palmyra First United Methodist Church. She was a longtime member of the Women's Club of Lebanon. She was also a past president of the Palmyra and Lebanon County Women's Club. She was an avid collector of rabbit and deer collectables and of coins. Most importantly she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She is survived by three sons, Kenneth R. Gingrich, Jr. and wife, Barbara of Lansdale, Steven D. Gingrich and wife, Elaine Torrance of Palmyra, and Kerry L. Gingrich and wife, Danielle of Houston, Texas; a daughter, Laura L. Gingrich of Palmyra; five grandchildren, Julie Meilak and husband, Brad of Melbourne, Australia, Jeffrey Gingrich of Wyomissing, and Amanda, Rebecca, and Jennifer Torrance, all of Palmyra; a sister, Betty Kron of Tulsa, Okla.; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Amos and Andy Fordemwalt. Funeral services will be held at Noon Thursday, May 15, at Rothermel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra 17078, with the Rev. Samuel Fry officiating. Family and friends are invited for visitation from 11 a.m. until time of the service. Burial will follow in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Palmyra. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her honor to the Palmyra Public Library or AGAPE Family Shelter.
